How the converter works

Every bank formats statements differently — sectioned ledgers, paired money-in/money-out columns, wrapped descriptions, balances that only print at day boundaries. A converter that assumes one fixed layout breaks on most of them.

This converter analyzes each document individually: it extracts the embedded text (or falls back to OCR for scans), detects the bank and layout, parses transaction rows with bank-specific rules where they exist, and normalizes dates, amounts and balances into one consistent schema.

  • Native PDF text extraction with OCR fallback for scanned statements
  • Bank-specific parsing rules with a layout-agnostic fallback
  • Running balance validation to catch extraction errors
  • Confidence scoring on every transaction

What you get back

Each transaction is normalized into date, description, debit, credit and balance columns with ISO dates and clean numeric amounts, ready for pivot tables, reconciliation or import into accounting software.
