Convert Chase Bank Statements to Excel

Chase personal and business checking statements follow a multi-section layout that separates deposits, ATM and debit card withdrawals, and electronic withdrawals into distinct tables. Converting them to Excel by hand means re-joining those sections and recomputing a single running balance — exactly the work our extraction pipeline automates.

How Chase statements are structured

  • Transactions grouped into separate sections (deposits, checks, card purchases, electronic withdrawals)
  • Dates shown as MM/DD without the year inside sections
  • Daily ending balance table printed separately from the transaction list
  • Business accounts can span 10+ pages per month

Fields extracted

  • Transaction date (year inferred from the statement period)
  • Merchant / payee description
  • Debit and credit amounts, split into separate columns
  • Reconstructed running balance

Common Chase conversion problems

Sections list withdrawals and deposits separately, so a simple copy-paste scrambles the order.

We merge every section into a single date-ordered ledger and rebuild the running balance.

Section dates omit the year, which breaks statements spanning a year boundary.

The parser infers the correct year for each row from the statement period on page one.

Chase conversion FAQ

Can I convert Chase business statements as well as personal ones?
Yes. Business Complete Banking statements use the same sectioned layout with more transaction volume; both convert the same way.
Does the converter handle Chase credit card statements?
Card statements use a different layout than checking statements, but the extraction pipeline detects the layout per document, so card PDFs convert too.
Chase only shows 7 years of statements. Can I convert older scanned copies?
Yes — scanned or photographed statements fall back to OCR extraction automatically.
